Who We Are

Founded in 1938,Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons (CPS),  is Canada's largest association of boating enthusiasts, with over 30,000 members nationally.

The Burlington Power & Sail Squadron is part of this  nationwide association, dedicated to improving boat operation through training. The volunteer trainers of Canada's largest association of boating enthusiasts offer safe boating courses all across Canada. Successful completion of the qualifying examinations for Boat Pro and the Boating Course lead to full or associate membership.

CPS is recognized, and often consulted by, various national, federal, and local government agencies. It also works closely with the Canadian Safe Boating Council and other boating and industry associations. Each year across Canada, thousands of boaters, take safe-boating courses with CPS from  the more than 3,000 experienced, volunteer training personnel.
While dedicated to training and promoting safety in all aspects of recreational boating, CPS has a strong social side that develops lifelong friendships and fun.
